Aamir Khan and Suriya are reportedly set to revive their iconic film Ghajini by developing it into a franchise with a sequel titled Ghajini 2.
Recent reports indicate that both actors are excited about the project, which aims to be a fresh narrative rather than a mere remake of the original films.
Indian media reports claim that two versions of Ghajini 2—one in Hindi featuring Aamir Khan and the other in Tamil starring Suriya—are planned to be filmed simultaneously. This strategy aims to ensure both films capture their respective audiences without diminishing each other’s novelty.
The project is being developed by Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena, who have been in discussions with both actors about the direction and storyline of the sequel. Aamir Khan has requested a well-developed storyboard before fully committing to the project, sources claimed.
On the other hand, during promotional activities for his upcoming film Kanguva, Suriya confirmed his interest in Ghajini 2, stating that discussions have begun and he is enthusiastic about exploring this new chapter in the franchise
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan known for his meticulousness regarding scripts and narratives, has expressed a desire for the sequel to feel organic and meaningful, rather than just an attempt to capitalize on the original’s success.
