Amitabh Bachchan turns 79

Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan turns 79 today.

Amitabh Bachchan  made his Bollywood debut in 1969 with ‘Saat Hindustani.’

It was the 1970s era when the “Angry Young Man” of Bollywood got his due recognition in films like Don, Deewar, Sholay, and Coolie. And to date, he has gained the status of one most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema.

The four-time National Award-winning actor was born on October 11, 1942, in Prayagraj (Allahabad) to social activist Teji Bachchan and renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

He is also the first Asian actor to get his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, London.

A day earlier, the ‘Sholay’ superstar posted a collage of three pictures showing him walking, with the caption, “…. Walking into the 80th.”
And as the megastar turns 79, there is a festive feel among his fans and followers who are celebrating a virtual birthday for the BIG B on Twitter.
Madhuri Dixit extended her wishes saying, “Birthday greetings to the legend @SrBachchan ji. May you have a fabulous year ahead with all the good luck and good health.”

“Amitji, you have set benchmarks that shall always be inspirational to millions of artists across the globe. Wish you all the health, love, and happiness, and many more Blockbusters. Happy birthday @SrBachchan ji love you,” tweeted Arjun Rampal along with a throwback photo.

Prabhas also wished Senior Bachchan on his birthday today calls him “the legend of all times”.

Raveena Tandon in her tweet said, “Happy Birthday dearest @SrBachchan ji here’s wishing you health and happiness. My favouritist co-star in the world! An institution, a masterclass, in reel and real, an inspiration and a part of everyone’s life ..we love you always.”

Actor Ajay Devgn, who has worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the past, in his tweet said, “Sir, looking at you through a different lens taught me what being a true artist is. Happy Birthday dear Amitji.”

Actor Chiranjeevi, who worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, tweeted, “Wishing my beloved big brother, my forever guru, the one and only Amit Ji a very happy birthday. Many many happy returns. Health, happiness, and more power to you Amit Ji!”

Happy Birthday Amitabh Bachchan trends on social media today as his fans continue to extend their wishes for their moist favourite Bollywood star.

While a number of fans were gathered outside Big B’s home Jalsa for Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday.
