Ram Charan’s “Game Changer” Faces Box Office Struggles Amid Controversy and Tax Evasion Allegations
Income Tax Department conducted raids linked to producer Dil Raju

Ram Charan’s film Game Changer, which debuted on January 10, 2025, has encountered significant challenges at the box office, compounded by allegations of inflated earnings and tax evasion controversies.
Initially, Game Changer had a strong opening, grossing approximately ₹51 crore on its first day and crossing the ₹100 crore mark within five days, largely due to the Sankranti holiday boost.
However, by its 16th day, the film’s net earnings in India had declined to ₹129.34 crore, with a total global collection of around ₹184.17 crore.
The film’s performance has been particularly weak in non-Telugu markets, with minimal earnings from its Hindi and Tamil versions.
The film has faced serious allegations regarding its box office figures. Critics have accused the producers of inflating the reported earnings, leading to widespread scepticism among fans and industry insiders.
Notably, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma publicly labeled the reported numbers as “fraud,” questioning their believability and suggesting that such inflated claims undermine the industry’s integrity.
Adding to the turmoil, the Income Tax Department conducted raids linked to producer Dil Raju, reportedly investigating allegations of tax evasion connected to the film’s financial dealings.
