Writer of hit dramas ‘Dewareen’ & ‘Choti Si Dunya’, Abdul Qadir Junejo passes away

Abdul Qadir Junejo famous writer of Urdu and Sindhi languages passed away in Jamshoro on Monday evening, aged 75.

As being reported, His funeral prayer will be offered at ancestral village Jinhan Junejo near Mithi in district Tharparkar on Tuesday.

Famous Sindhi writer and educationist was under treatment in the hospital for a long time.

Abdul Qadir Junejo was born in the village of Tharparkar in 1945.

During his career, he wrote several Sindhi and Urdu soaps, drama, stories, and many literary books.

He gained popularity from hit PTV dramas Parenda, Dewareen, Choti Si Dunya and Dhool.

Abdul Qadir Junejo started working as a Primary school Teacher in 1965, becoming a secondary school teacher in 1972.

He was then appointed as Director at the Institute of Sindhology, Jamshoro. He also remained chairman of Sindhi Language Authority from 2005 to 2008.

In acknowledgment of his services, he was honoured with  Pride of Performance in 2008 and Latif Award in 2016.
