Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is the first Bollywood celebrity to have a wax statue in Madame Tussauds museums, has now made it to Sydney’s wax statue museum as well.
In a festival called ‘Lights Camera Bollywood’ the actress’ statue has been placed in Bollywood zone of Madame Tussauds Sydney and will stay there till January.
“We’re excited to announce that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has joined the Madame Tussauds family and will be here for a limited time only,” said Mark Connolly, General Manager, Madame Tussauds Sydney.
He added, “She is one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India and we know she’ll be a big hit with Bollywood fans.”
Aishwarya’s statue will be depicting the actress’ look from the Robin Hood film premiere at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival in May 2010, and has been borrowed from Madame Tussauds New York.
Additionally the statue will be making its place right next to Aishwarya’s co-stars Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.
The ‘Lights Camera Bollywood’ festival was initiated in April and it aims at celebrating the elements of Bollywood. The management is certain of the festival’s success that has inspired many fans of Indian movies.
