Akshay Kumar’s 2012 hit film Rowdy Rathore is getting a sequel, confirmed sources close to the production.
According to Shabinaa Khan, who co-produced the film alongside Sanjay Leela Bhansali told the media, “We are in the process of writing Rowdy Rathore 2 right now and InshaAllah, it will feature Akshay in the lead.”
Shabinaa Khan also praised Akshay Kumar’s versatility and his body of work. “Right from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to Padman, his films have ample of humour. He can manage anything and everything and is one of the only all rounders we have in the industry today,” she added.
Rowdy Rathore although received mixed reviews from the critics, the film went on to become a big hit seven years ago. Shabinaa Khan has now confirmed that the film is currently in pre production stage and will go on the floors later this year.
