Ali Safina Lashes Out at PISA Awards for Unprofessionalism

Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA) that took place on Friday, February 7 in Dubai for the first time have made quite a noise on social media and mainly for not so pleasant reasons.

Earlier Mehwish Hayat and Nabeel came out denying their participation in the award show due to management’s miscommunication, and now RJ turned actor Ali Safina says the same.

“It seems that the overly excited, yet anonymous, organisers of this supposedly ‘huge show’ happening for the first time in Dubai have gone missing. Especially after using mine and other artist’s names for publicity that they nominated, invited, but never sent a ticket to,” said the Taakey ki Baraat actor as he penned down a note on social media on the award day.

“I was asked to send in my documents for visa and travel. After my visa came back I noticed it was a ‘salesperson’ visa which is strange because I’m clearly an actor, not a salesperson. A few days after, I was told to wait on for my travel details and to block out the dates 6th, 7th, 8th,” he continued.

“I, however, didn’t hear back from the organisers or the PR agency with my travel itinerary despite inquiring,” Safina narrated the whole incident of being invited and then left to hang without further communication.

“It seems like any Tom, Dick or Harry can organise an award show and all they need is a ticket and hotel stay to be there,” the actor lashed out.

Safina stated irresponsible behavior by PISA management is an insult to the artists and thus he is taking a stand against the award show which failed to fulfill its commitment.
