Alia Bhatt Tests Positive For COVID-19

Alia Bhatt is the latest Bollywood celebrity to have contracted coronavirus.

The 28-year-old starlet took to Instagram to inform her fans and followers that she has tested positive on Friday.

Alia Bhatt has been currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi in Mumbai, is now quarantined at her home.

“Hello all, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors. Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care,” Alia shared on her Instagram story.

Student of the Year star had tested negative for COVID-19 on March 11 and she resumed work after her actor-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who had been shooting for “Gangubai Kathiawadi” with her, tested positive.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor spoon be seen together in Ayan Mukerji’s action fantasy film Brahmastra which is expected to release this year.

Other Bollywood stars who have contracted coronavirus include, Paresh Rawal, Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Rohit Saraf.

Some others who have infected with the virus and recovered include,  Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and Aishwarya Rai.
 
Mumbai where the Indian film industry is mainly based, on Thursday has reported 8,646 new coronavirus cases.
 
It’s reported to be  Mumbai’s highest one-day rise since the outbreak of the pandemic.
 
The city’s overall COVID-19 cases tally stands at 4,23,360.
