Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff taken to hospital after accident

Andrew Flintoff is reported to have gotten injured during the filming for the BBC show “Top Gear.”

Former England cricketer Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff has been hospitalized after an accident.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at the programme’s test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome, south of London.

Former cricketer turned TV presented was taken to hospital by air ambulance after crew medics attended the scene immediately.

The 45-year-old former cricketer has opted to have a career in television including co-presenting the hit TV motor show Top Gear.

“Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning (Tuesday) with crew medics attending the scene immediately,” a BBC spokesperson said, according to the BBC and Sky.

“He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course.”

Flintoff’s injuries are “not life-threatening”, according to the Sun.

While the filming for the show has been postponed.

As reported, Flintoff himself has been in a high-speed accident since he began as one of the show’s co-presenters in 2019.

At that time he lost control of a motorised trike, the Time Bandit when racing at 124mph against co-hosts Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness.

Flintoff, a celebrated all-rounder better known as “Freddie”, has represented England in 79 Tests and 141 One Day Internationals before retiring from cricket aged 32.
