Anoushay Abbasi garners attention with her Impressive act in ‘Ghalti’
The latest release ‘Ghalti’ has been garnering critical acclaim and audience praise because of its brilliant storyline and great performances. Saba Hameed takes the director’s seat for the first time and plays a pivotal role too. Zaira (Hira Mani) is a happy go lucky and sweet daughter of Shabeer (Shehryar Zaidi) and Nafeesa (Saba Faisal). She lives in Dubai and is Nikahfied to cousin Saad (Affan Waheed), who lives in Pakistan and struggles to find his feet towards a good career. Being the elder son, he is carefree and doesn’t take the household responsibilities very seriously.
Maira (Anoushay Abbasi), Aliya (Sana Askari), and Sohail (Faris Shafi) are siblings of Saad. Her mother, Zaitoon (Saba Hameed), is the widow of Shabeer’s late brother. After his demise, he took the family under his wings and supported them through thick and thin. He is generous enough that he gives his property to them to live in. The twist in the tale occurs when Shabeer faces enormous losses in his business and is left with no option but to sell his house in Pakistan. He comes to Pakistan to celebrate Eid and tells Zaitoon to vacate the house. A greedy Zaitoon cannot accept this shock and reacts miserably; she threatens that if this would happen, Saad will divorce Zaira.
Standing out among the ensemble cast, Anoushay Abbasi’s act comes as a pleasant surprise. Her role has shades of grey and she does it with complete conviction. She digs her teeth well into the part and makes sure that it would get hate. She is effortless while emoting anger and stress during the transition from the big house to their old place.

Abbasi has the knack of smelling good scripts with the diversified roles she has done till date. She stands tall and seems to be a person at ease with herself. Unruffled with the competition, she has proved her mettle with her acting prowess and screen presence. She comes across as a no-nonsense girl and is happy with whatever she has achieved. It’s her intelligence and the charming persona that has kept the audience impressed with every performance of her.
