Anupam Kher joins the cast of BBC One period drama series Mrs. Wilson

Anupam Khair has joined the cast of BBC One’s drama Mrs. Wilson. Shooting of the project starts next month, however, the details of the character which Kher will be playing have not been revealed yet. This project is going to be another foreign endeavor for the Indian actor. He has been part of several international projects which includes Silver Linings Playbook (2013), The Big Sick (2018) and Sense 8.

The cast for the three part period drama series Mrs. Wilson has been set by BBC One, it will include actors which are already famous from other TV series and films, Iain Glen (Game Of Thrones, Delicious), Keeley Hawes (The Durrells, Ashes To Ashes), Anupam Kher (Silver Linings Playbook, The Boy with The Topknot) and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, True Blood) have been signed to star opposite Ruth Wilson (Luther, The Affair).

The story plot for Mrs. Wilson (formerly known as The Wilsons) is set between 1940s and 1960s London and follows Alison Wilson (Ruth Wilson), who thinks she is happily married until her husband dies and a woman turns up on her doorstep claiming that she is the real Mrs. Wilson. Alison is determined to prove the validity of her own marriage and Alec’s (Iain Glen) love for her, but is instead led into a world of disturbing secrets.


Anupam Kher has been recently nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category at the BAFTA TV Awards 2018 for his role in another BBC series The Boy with The Topknot. While talking to the media about this project, he said,” Mrs Wilson is set in a very interesting background and follows a gripping storyline which had me hooked as I read it. Not to mention, it is great to be part of such a talented star cast ensemble. I look forward to shooting next month”.
