The extended official trailer for Aquaman was released yesterday and we’re all here and up for it.
This 5-minute clip actually holds a lot more than what it shows.
First, let’s talk about the humor in the film. The character Arthur Curry is actually very well-humored, it is pretty obvious in here and we’re head over heels for it, nothing absurd to see, nothing too over there. Another thing is the plot that revolves around Atlantis. Many of the audience must be unaware of Arthur Curry’s past and background story, the comic readers are well aware of it as they’ve been introduced to it via comic a while ago.
One major thing is the chemistry between Arthur & Mera. Of course, comic readers know what it is about, but if you don’t all you can do is to wait to find out what’s going to happen in the movie. It’s definitely going to reveal all.
Next we see a clear inspiration from Greek mythology. I mean, the island of Atlantis itself is from Greek mythology, but the trident and how it holds all the power of the sea also comes from there. It is not the first time that this idea is thought, as there are many movies where we see how a trident is related to such powers. Disney’s little mermaid and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales also somewhat show that.
What interested me a little more than the rest of the points was Aquaman’s appearance. We all know Aquaman dresses in classic bright orange and green. But here we see something full yet flashy. I must say, the live action adaptation is actually very fascinating as the scales on Aquaman’s chest look so ostentatious with golden glow and a hint of orange , combined with deep metallic green gloves and boots with sculpted wings, and the classic Aquaman letter A belt.
It is pretty obvious from the trailer that it is going to be about the villain-war-savior-hero sort of film, however a very interesting and captivating one. The overall vibe of the movie feels very strong and people are already waiting for this one to be released.
Starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe and directed by James Wan, Aquaman is believed to be a savior of the present and future of DC films. The movie is set to be released on December 21 of this year, and we can’t wait to know whether it is true or not.
