ASTRO’s Moonbin found dead at his residence in Seoul aged 25
The police stated, “It appears that Moonbin took his own life."
ASTRO’s Moonbin, the main dancer and the lead vocalist was found dead at his residence in Seoul on Wednesday.
Fantagio, the K-pop group’s record label confirmed the news of K-pop singer Moonbin’s passing in the wee hours of Thursday.
As reported, Moonbin will be buried on April 22 at 8 am local time.
While the family has requested respect for their privacy during the time of mourning.
The funeral is being held privately for members and close friends.
Seoul Gangnam Police Station reported on April 19 at approximately 8:10 p.m. KST, Moonbin was found dead in his residence in the Gangnam district of Seoul by his manager, who immediately called the police.
The police stated, “It appears that Moonbin took his own life.”
“We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death,” the police added.

On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and has now become a star in the sky.
Although it cannot compare to the grief of the bereaved family that had to part with their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been together with him for a long time, are also deeply mourning the departed amidst tremendous shock and sorrow.
It pains us even more to have to convey this sudden news to the fans who have given their unsparing love and support to Moonbin. Because we know all too well just how unparalleled the departed [Moonbin] was in his love for his fans, whom he was constantly thinking of, the grief is all the more overwhelming.
In order for the bereaved family, who has fallen into great sorrow due to this sudden tragedy, to be able to respectfully mourn the departed and say their goodbyes, we entreat you to please refrain from speculative or malicious reports.
In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral will be held as quietly as possible, with family, close friends, and agency colleagues in attendance.
Once again, we express our deep mourning as the departed walks his final path.
Moon Bin, known as Moonbin joined the Fantagio label’s trainee programme at an early age and was an actor and model before debuting with Astro in February 2016.
The other members of the group are Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo and Yoon San-ha.
He was a member of the group Astro and also performed with a subgroup called Moonbin & Sanha.
Global fans reacted with shock and grief over the death of a 25-year-old K-pop star.
The label’s announcement has prompted thousands of comments from Moonbin’s grieving fans and many expressed disbelief.
