Atif Aslam contributes Rs 2.5 millions for the cause of building dams

Superstar Atif Aslam , famous Pakistani singer who has got many famous Pakistani as well as Bollywood hit songs to his credit, has generously contributed a sum of Rs 2.5 million  to the national cause of building Dams.

Atif Aslam handed the cheque of 2.5 million rupees to the Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Sunday  at the Chief Justice’s residence in Islamabad. The Chief Justice acknowledged his contribution  and warm gesture for the cause of building Diamer- Basha and Mohmand Dams.

Recently, the Chief Justice of Pakistan asked the nation to contribute generously for the cause of building dams as Pakistan was facing a severe water shortage and without dams, we would be headed towards a drought. An account was opened following the Supreme Court orders to collect the contributions from people across Pakistan and from overseas Pakistanis. The funds collected in this respect so far have reached the mark of Rs 2 billion as per statistics.

All the commercial and micro-finance banks, and field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation have opened the fund account to receive the contributions in cash, and you can contribute in the cause through cheques, pay orders and demand drafts at all their branches across the country. There is a SMS service too through which you can contribute Rs 10 by sending a SMS saying DAM to 8000.
