Atif Aslam on FBR’s radar for alleged tax evasion
Atif Aslam is reported to be on the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) radar for alleged tax evasion.
As being reported Pakistan’s top singer, who made it to the inaugural Forbes Asia’s 100 Digital Stars list, has been given one month’s notice to pay the tax.
According to a news source, FBR has reportedly sent Atif Aslam a tax notice worth 58 million after the audit of his income for the year 2018.
Reportedly, If the Doorie singer fails to pay the due amount, the revenue board will make the recovery by freezing his bank accounts.
FBR has launched an initiative to collect tax from the citizens and has requested personalities belonging to showbiz and media to declare their assets. Back in 2019, FBR had warned them if they don’t they will also face disciplinary action.
While Atif Aslam is not the first person from the showbiz industry to come under FBR’s scrutiny.
Back in October 2020, the FBR also investigated Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s sources of income.
