The Jodhpur High Court, on Monday, has issued a notice to Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam Kothari, Tabu and Dushyant Singh in connection with the 1998 Black Buck Poaching case.
According to the news agency this development comes after the state government challenged the acquittal of actors in the case by a local court.
Bollywood stars were accused of poaching blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998. As they were shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Last year on April 5th, 5 Bollywood actors Saif, Sonali, Neelam, Tabu, and Dushyant were acquitted in the case. While Salman Khan was convicted Under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. He has sentenced a five-year prison sentence along with a fine of INR 10,000.
After spending two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail, Salman Khan was granted bail on a bond of INR 50,000 and two sureties of the same amount.
As being reported Salman Khan’s appeal against the sentence will be heard on April 3.
