Byram Dinshawji Avari passes away in Karachi aged 81

Karachi mourns one it's finest- rest in peace, Byram Avari.

Renowned businessman, Avari group owner and two-time Asian Games gold medalist, Byram Dinshawji Avari passes away at the age of 81 in Karachi.

Family sources of Byram D’Awari confirmed his death. Bairam D’Awari was also the Chairman of the Parsi Association in Pakistan.

According to sources, Bairam D’Awari was ailing for a long time and was being treated in a private hospital.

His last rites will be performed on Monday at 1 pm.

Bairam D’Awari represented Pakistan in the 1978 and 1982 Asian Games and won gold medals in both.

He was also awarded the Medal of Excellence on 14 August 1982 by the Government of Pakistan.

Among his mourners are his widow and three children.

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed their grief over the death and extend their condolences.
