Celebrities take to social media to spread awareness amid coronavirus outbreak

Celebrities take to social media to spread awareness amid the coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan, urging citizens to act responsibly. Let us all practice social distancing, don’t leave the house unnecessarily

The tally of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 94 with the highest number of patients reported to be in Sindh.

It seems like many of the citizens are not taking the government’s advice of social distancing very seriously as the coronavirus pandemic is getting worse by the day.

However, a few of the Pakistani celebrities took to social media to share their views.

Zhalay Sarhadi took to Instagram sharing her morning routine and asking people to wash hands and avoid touching the face.

Actor Armeena Khan also posted a detailed note on Instagram asking people to wash their hands properly and to avoid big social gatherings.

Meanwhile, singer turned social worker, Shehzad Roy who also attended task force meeting at CM House Sindh, shared a detailed account urging citizens to take the matter seriously.

“I just want to make a request everyone, if someone wants to shake your hand, don’t do it, even if they feel insulted. Don’t congregate, for weddings or religious reasons. On my way, I could see that everyone was at Sea View beach like it’s New Year’s or a holiday, people were celebrating. We need to behave like Ashraful makhlookat (noblest of all creations), this is a very dangerous situation. We don’t want to panic but we also need to save each other; we don’t want things to get so bad that we need to go on lockdown.”

“Let’s practice social distancing and try to infect the least number of people; don’t leave the house unnecessarily”, he added.

Actor-director Shamoon Abbasi also took to social media a few days ago, sharing his account of travel from Dubai airport despite coronavirus outbreak.

“It’s midnight and the airport seems a little deserted,” he said. “Not everyone is wearing a mask, but still there is a sense of urgency.” He added that that very few people seemed to be traveling.
