Chadwick Boseman’s Brother Kevin Reveals He is in Remission from Cancer Since Two Years

Kevin Boseman, older brother of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman who lost his life to colon cancer in August, has revealed that he has been in remission for two years. The New York based choreographer said he wanted to share the news, good news, in the face of the year that has been tragic.

“Today marks my official two-year remission anniversary. October 14, 2020,” wrote the 48-year old on Instagram earlier this month.

“I was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and underwent four rounds of chemotherapy. I’m in remission!!!!! You read right. I am in remission,” he further added.

Kevin said that he decided to go public with the news in order to bring hope. “Something to smile about. Something to shout about. I hope you’re smiling and shouting with me. Cancer is something most of us have no control over. We can only control our responses to it, which includes being proactive about our healthcare both physically and mentally.”

Kevin’s announcement came less than two months after his brother Chadwick’s death to colon cancer. The 43-year old passed away on August 28, after fighting a four year-long private battle against the disease.
