Charlize Theron Honored with American Cinematheque Award

Charlize Theron, known for her exceptionally good looks and unconventional roles, has received the prestigious American Cinematheque Award for a ‘fearless career’ at an award ceremony held at Beverly Hills.

“I’m overwhelmed — I need a cocktail!” said the 44-year old actress.

Charlize, the two-time Oscar winner, received the award for doing powerful and inspirational characters over the span of her career. At the event, Kirsten Stewart and other friends of the fraternity were present to cheer on the Tully actress.

“These people who are here tonight have been with me through a lot of stuff,” said the African-American actress.

“She is the most fearless actor I’ve ever worked with, and probably the most fearless human being I’ve ever met,” said Jason Reitman, who helmed Theron’s Young Adult and Tully.

The award, given to celebrities at mid-level of career is a testament to the individual’s success and potential. Earlier, Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, and Stephen Spielberg have been given the award.
