College Admissions Scandal: Fuller House fires Lori Loughlin

The college admissions scandal has garnered a lot of hype and that too for all the wrong reasons. Following the showdown, things have become difficult for celebrities involved. Actress Lori Loughlin has also suffered severe backlash and following the drama, she has been fired from the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Fuller House.

Criminal charges have been pressed against Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, for paying a bribe for her daughters’ acceptance at USC. According to documents, Loughlin and Giannulli paid “$500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — even though they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

Hallmark Channel also dropped Lori Loughlin from Vancouver-filmed shows amid the fraud charges.

“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions featuring Lori on the Crown Media Family Network channels — including #GarageSaleMysteries,” wrote the Hallmark Channel in an official statement on Twitter.

Following the developments, Sephora ended their partnership with Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade as well.
