Condolences pour in for Ali Raza Abidi’s sad demise

Life is unpredictable and every time we witness such an incident, our beliefs are reinforced. However, the sad and hard to accept reality is when a life is silenced without a reason; quietened within seconds; all because he had already been placed at the hit list of the mafia. How many more people will we have to lose before we do something? When will this country become safe for all?

Tell me, if life isn’t safe for high profile politicians and leaders, what is the guarantee of safety for a common citizen?

Last night Karachi lost a true politician, a gentle soul as they say; Ali Raza Abidi, who was shot down outside his residence.

Abidi was elected as an MNA on Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s ticket in 2013 general elections. He, however, joined the Pakistan faction of the party after its split in Karachi in August 2016. He resigned from his National Assembly membership in November 2017 citing political and personal reasons.

Heartfelt condolences are pouring for Abidi’s sad demise. His namaz-e-janaza is to be held today after Zuhr prayers.
