The death toll from the Ghotki train crash surged to 62 on Tuesday. The rescue operations came to a halt and the track was restored after 27 hours.
Over 60 were people killed and more than 100 were injured when the Sir Syed Express collided with derailed Millat Express on early Monday morning near Ghotki, Sindh.
Creator of the international hit Turkish drama Dirilis: Ertugrul took to social media to extend condolences and prayers over the tragic train accident.
“I have heard the news of the train accident in my friend and brother country Pakistan with great sadness. Forgiveness from Allah Almighty to those who lost their lives in this accident and to those who were injured. We pray to Allah Almighty for immediate healing,” Mehmet Bozdog tweeted.
Turkish actor Gulsim Ali aka Aslihan Hatun also shared prays for the victims of the Ghotki train crash and expressed her deep grief.
“I’m deeply saddened to hear that a passenger train accident at Ghotki, Pakistan,” she wrote in an Instagram story.
“May Allah have mercy upon those who lost their lives in this tragic accident. I extend to the brotherly people of Pakistan my heartfelt condolences,” she added.
