Fakhre Alam urges PM Imran Khan for a lockdown amidst coronavirus threats
Coronavirus cases in Pakistan are increasing by the minute. Why the government and medical health professionals have been insisting to avoid social gatherings, we Pakistanis haven’t really paid heed to any of the advisories being issued.
In such a drastic situation, singer cum host, Fakhre Alam, took to his social media, to urge the PM to enforce a complete lockdown amidst the increasing threats of coronavirus in the country.
In a video intended for Imran Khan, Fakhre Alam said, “Dear honourable Prime Minister, we all know that you have a lot of compassion for everyone, but especially Pakistanis. There’s no doubt about that. But I know this will be the ultimate challenge of your leadership.”

“As a humble citizen, I want to say that on the one side the government has appealed to the citizens that they stay at home and practice social distancing. But as a result of that, the lower-income bracket and the daily wage earner is also affected by that decision, as people are not going out or going to work, so the daily earner is not earning anything as it is.”
Dear honorable PM @ImranKhanPTI sir it is a humble request to you please re consider. A lockdown before it’s too late. This Video is in two parts. I could be wrong & I know you are worried about social unrest but we can end up in a far worse place. #CoronaVirusPakistan pic.twitter.com/Tp8yRkpXAW

Dear honorable PM @ImranKhanPTI here is the remaining part of the message sir. We know you are faced with the most difficult decision of your term but only you can take a decision like this. #CoronaVirusPakistan pic.twitter.com/0WqlB0MP2C

Alam wants the Prime Minister to reconsider a lockdown before its too late. He even gave some alternative solutions that can be implemented to make the situation better.
“I suggest we create rationing depot at different points in our cities, especially those areas where the lower-income bracket resides. And we implement a complete two-week curfew, so we can mitigate this disease and the process of mass infection. Secondly, school fee needs to be written off as parents are not going to work and need their resources and utility bills need to be deferred, so there’s less pressure on the country as a whole,” states Alam.
According to Fakhre Alam and as true as it is Pakistanis are not taking coronavirus seriously. The advised social distancing is more of a joke to people who are out and about while they should be staying at home.
Fakhre Alam insisted on a complete clampdown and a curfew-like situation ASAP because if the cases keep growing at the same rate, the PM won’t have the freedom to go back and reconsider his decision then.
