Famed photographer-director Madiha Aijaz passes away

Award-winning Pakistani photographer-director Madiha Aijaz passes away in Karachi, on Saturday night. According to her colleagues, she a cardiac arrest.

Madia was associated with Karachi’s prestigious Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture as an assistant professor. She was admitted to the city’s Agha Khan Hospital where she breathed her last on Saturday, according to the close acquaintance.

She was known best to all for her exploration of photography, being awarded several residencies to continue her work.

Madiha had an MFA in photography and Related Media from Parsons and was a Fullbright scholar.

She is especially recognized for her book ‘Call to Conscience’ which features her photography of Hindu Temples in Pakistan.

Her death is being mourned by many of her fans and followers, posting messages on social media.
