Fans Get Robert Downey Jr. An Oscar Nomination

A few months ago as Disney announced its Oscar’s 2020 nominees from Avengers Endgame, fans were disappointed to not see Robert Downey Jr. aka Iron Man in the list. Given that Iron Man has the most screen time compared to any other Avenger in all movies, the decision seemed a bit offputting.

Fans took it to change.org and filed a petition to include the actor in its Oscars nominations for the coming award season.

Well fans can now rejoice as the Iron Man has been officially included in Disney’s Oscar nominees submission. Additionally, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans as supporting actors and Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson have also been included in the best supporting actress category.

So here’s the final nominee list Disney has submitted featuring Avengers Endgame cast.

Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Don Cheadle among supporting actors. Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan and Brie Larson amongst the females nominated for best supporting actress.

However, if it may helps fans find peace with Disney, it was Downey’s own choice to not be included in Oscars nominations.

“There was some talk about it, and I said, let’s not,” said Downey in an interview when asked if he had ever been included in The Academy’s nominations.
