Fatima Bhutto shares details about her Nikkah

Fatima Bhutto took to social media on Saturday to share some more details about her nikkah with Graham.

It was yesterday when Fatima Bhutto’s wedding announcement made by her brother Zulfiqar Jr. caught everyone by surprise.

As reported, Fatima Bhutto renowned author and columnist tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held at the Bhutto family’s residence in Karachi known as 70 Clifton.

“On behalf of our father, Shaheed Mir Murtaza Bhutto and the Bhutto family, I’m very happy to share some happy news. My sister Fatima and Graham were married in an intimate nikkah ceremony yesterday at our home, 70 Clifton,” Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior revealed in a tweet along with a photograph of the newlyweds.

Taking to Twitter, Fatima Bhutto also shared more details and photos of her marriage with Graham.

“My brother Zulfikar tied our grandmother’s imam zaman on me and the ceremony was conducted in my grandfather’s libraries, one of my most beloved places on earth. Behind us were my aunts, uncle and father’s childhood photos and an original People’s Party flag placed by my grandfather himself,” she added.

“We won’t be having any other ceremonies, I’m not one for opulent weddings but especially now it feels so inappropriate given what so many are struggling through. I missed my darling father tremendously, but he was with us. I felt him in my heart and among us as everyone present loved Papa so much. Please keep us in your prayers and thank you for all your kind wishes.” Fatima wrote.

We get to know that the Sindhi traditional wedding Layoon rasam was also performed after their Nikkah.

The groom’s name has been trending on the Twitter timeline ever since the Nikkah news was made public.

So far what we know is that he is a US national and has purportedly converted to Islam and has chosen “Gibran” as his Islamic name.
