He has played the boy next door. He has played an antagonist, a psychopath, a psychotic lover, a drunkard, a molester and a number of other characters. In fact, we feel, there might not have been any role that the versatile Faysal Qureshi hasn’t pulled off perfectly. No matter what he is entrusted with, Faysal Qureshi brings his A game to the sets.
All set to make a comeback to films with his home production Sorry: A Love Story, Faysal Qureshi is also set to debut into the digital space with Rafay Rashdi’s highly anticipated series Baadshah Begum.
Qureshi is all set to join a list of amazing actors, playing an antagonist in the upcoming web series penned down by the veteran writer, Saaji Gul.
Rafay shared the news on his social media, announcing Faysal’s addition to the cast.
“A refined actor, performer, and a superb media enthusiast of our time. have watched this legendary artist my entire life – never got a chance to tie in professionally because of my very little experience, and time spent [so far] within the industry.
however today as I break the news, I have been blessed, allowed, acknowledged to have on board a man who needs no introduction, the one and only sir Faysal Qureshi – to portray, the only ultimate, arch rival & menacing, villain in

such an honor – an experience of a lifetime, to be unraveled – as we progress,” wrote Rafay on his social media.
Talking to Oye Yeah about the development, Faysal Qureshi added, “Actually we are in the very initial stage working on characters, character sketches and the script.”
Sharing his excitement, Faysal added, “I will be working with Iman for the first time alongside other actors. All of us are rather excited. We had been in talks since a few days and it was announced today. I have been getting a good response about it and am quite positive.”
Talking about the story line, Faysal added “Baadshah Begum is about sibling rivalry – and a constant struggle for the throne of power within the family and the community. It deals with some hard hitting subjects. Inheritance, education, family politics, women emancipation, and empowerment, gender inequality, and male dominance. In a nutshell it’s an effort to highlight the issues which people refrain to touch or discuss. Web series is the perfect platform to showcase this story, I believe.”
Coming to his character, the Rung Laaga actor added, “I will be embodying the arch villain / nemesis in this series – playing a family member who vows to bring down the sibling rivalry through his twisted and evil mended ways, with thought provoking methods which go against the systematic approach of the family. My character will have shades of antagonism, which caters to the boundaries of webseries.”
