A First Information Report (FIR) against Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, comedian Bharti Singh and director-choreographer Farah Khan have been registered on Wednesday for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the minority community in a comedy TV show.
As per the details, the case against the Bollywood celebs was lodged on the complaint by President of the Christian Front of Ajnala Block for hurting the religious sentiments in a TV show aired on the Christmas eve.
The trio has been booked under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which relates to “malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings” by insulting religion.
The plaintiff has also submitted video clips of the show alleging that religious sentiments of the Christian community have been hurt.
According to the police, a further investigation against the accused is underway.
Meanwhile, actor Raveena Tandon took to Twitter clarifying that the three of them never intended to offend anyone.
“In case we did, my most sincere apologies to those who were hurt,” she wrote.
