Folk singer Shaukat Ali passes away
Folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away in Lahore on Friday after a protracted illness.
It was reported a day earlier that Pakistan’s iconic singer was under treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Lahore.
A day earlier Shaukat Ali was diagnosed with liver failure.
His Ameer Shaukat Ali’s son had requested prayers for his father following his deteriorating condition.
With a singing career spanning over five decades, Shaukat Ali was best known for his war-time patriotic songs.
Saathion Mujahidon Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan and Apna Quaid Aik Hai are his war songs among many others that are still alive years after the 1965 and 71 wars.
The Ghazal maestro is one of the most prolific artists of the Pakistani music industry who was also a recipient of the Pride of Performance award.
We won’t be hearing those iconic songs with the same high notes ever again! However, Shaukat Ali’s legacy will be cherished forever.
