Google doodle remembers to celebrate Pakistan’s heartthrob hero Waheed Murad’s birthday, who would have turned 81 today
Known for his charm, soft voice, and exceptional talent, he became known as the king of romance and the “Chocolate Hero” of Pakistan. That’s the reason why Doodle has a few hearts along with Waheed Murad’s image shared by Google.
No one knew that the boy born on October 2, 1938, in Sialkot, Punjab, will grow up to be a phenomenal film star in Pakistan.
Murad established himself as an exceptional producer, actor, and scriptwriter, he was part of the most glorified era of Pakistan’s film industry. and to this day no one could replace his charms on the silver screen. His contributions brought to the Pakistani film industry are held in the highest regard and can never be forgotten.
He launched his production house by the name of Film Arts in 1960 when he was still an MA English Literature student at the Karachi University and produced his debut film Insan Badalta Hai (1961), and later Jabse Dekha Hai Tumhen (1963).
The 60’s era was the golden period with an estimated that Pakistani studios released more than 100 films a year and around 700 cinemas were operating in the country.

Waheed Murad’s first role was a cameo in Saathi in 1959. He appeared in 125 feature films and earned 32 film awards over the course of his career.
To name a few Wahid Murad’s finest works include, 1971 Mastana, 1970 Naseeb Apna Apna, 1969 Ishara, 1968 Samandar, 1967 Ehsaan, 1966 Armaan, 1962 Jab Se Dekha Hai Tumhay, 1961 Insaan Badalta Hai.
