Hamza Ali Abbasi Faces Backlash Over Controversial Podcast Interview
The criticism of the party was too hard for the PTI supporters to handle.

Hamza Ali Abbasi faced backlash after his recent podcast appearance with Mansoor Ali Khan, where he criticised Imran Khan’s and PTI’s political strategies, particularly condemning the long marches and the events of May 9th as “totally wrong.”
Hamza stated that politics is not a battle of absolute right versus wrong and suggested that Imran Khan should have avoided confrontation and protests, which sparked controversy among PTI supporters and political observers.
His candid remarks about the political turmoil and his call for restraint and a more mature political approach were met with mixed reactions, leading to significant public debate and backlash on social media and other platforms.
Ever since, the Podcast was out, X-timeline is blowing up with all sorts of reactions:
Hamza Ali Abbasi knows how to stay relevant … say what the powerful want to hear. His ISPR ties and current rhetoric make him a poor choice for any charity role. https://t.co/67S19tslUz

Hey Hamza Ali Abbasi,
Where have you been hiding? Why the sudden change of course after all this time? Were you being intimidated by the most moral army?pic.twitter.com/68mBpKuVpA— Mr. Jinnah 🇵🇰 (Father of Nation) (@jinnah1947_14) June 16, 2025
Stop seeing everyone from PTI's lens. Every thing is not about PTI. Have you ever spoke about GE 2018 mandate theft where HRCP declared it as dirtiest election? This is what Hamza Ali Abbasi was saying that everyone has played their part. So all need to sit and avoid… https://t.co/TvfB6tN6Rk pic.twitter.com/1DuLzYrv2P

hamza ali abbasi say political difference ki ummed thi leikin aesi tone deafness ki umeed nai thi, reality is this: ppl like him say I have "changed" but they always want to impose the same change on others & never want to understand where the other is coming from.

Hamza Ali Abbasi resigned from his position as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) culture secretary in April 2015.
He announced his resignation through a Facebook post, stating that he felt unfit to represent Pakistani culture in the party due to certain elements in his upcoming film that he believed did not align with the culture he wanted to promote.
Although he remained a supporter of PTI, he stepped down from his official role shortly after being appointed in January 2015. And today’s criticism of the party was too hard for the PTI supporters to handle.
Hamza Ali Abbasi's always been an opportunistic attention seeker. That he's suddenly parroting ISI talking points isn't really surprising. Paisay aur attention kay liay sala kuch bhi karay ga. Wasn't his last drama a Green (ISPR) production?pic.twitter.com/sXcqKdVwRT
