South Korean actress Han So Hee’s mother arrested for operating illegal gambling dens

South Korean actress Han So Hee‘s mother is reported to have been arrested for operating illegal gambling dens.
According to Korean media reports, a 50-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Shin, was taken into custody on September 2nd for allegedly running 12 illegal gambling establishments in cities such as Ulsan and Wonju since 2021.
The person arrested is accused of using “proxy owners” to front these operations, where patrons accessed a gambling website run by her to play games like baccarat after purchasing game credits.
It should be noted that celebrities in South Korea are always under tight scrutiny by netizens, fans and followers. This case has drawn additional attention due to Han So-hee’s earlier public statements distancing herself from her mother after past debt controversies came to light.
Han So Hee’s mother has a history of being sued for fraud and has previously received fines for similar offences, as per Korean media reports.
Back in March 2022, Han So-hee’s agency released a statement acknowledging that Ms Shin had been involved in several fraud cases, including forgery, and also clarified that Han So-hee was not connected to her mother’s actions, as determined by the court.
Han So Hee has achieved international popularity for her recent hit Netflix series including Gyeongseong Creature, Alive, and The World of the Married, to name a few.
It was earlier in March this year when Han So Hee broke the internet with her dating claims.
