Twitter has suspended a fake account claiming to be Hassan Ali’s wife Samiya.
The development comes after Samiya responded to the reports of online threats in a social media post mentioning the fake Twitter handle using her name.
A fake Twitter account in her name, impersonated as Samiya, launched an impassioned but fake plea seeking help in the face of receiving “threats in Dubai and in Pakistan” after Hassan Ali’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup semi-final against Australia.
“So many tweets circulating from this fake account that I, Hassan, and my daughter are getting threats from people of Pakistan which is absolutely wrong. Instead, we’ve seen tons of support,” she wrote.
Samiya also urged everyone to report the fake account.
In the latest development, Twitter has suspended the said account.
Samiya and Hassan tied the knot in August 2019 jn Dubai.
