Hollywood Celebrities Express Anger at Justice System After Breonna Taylor Verdict

Earlier in March this year, 26-year old medical worker Breonna Taylor was shot and killed by three police officers in Louisville during a drug operation at her apartment. A case was launched against the officers responsible for the killing of the innocent woman who got caught up in the raid due to an ex-boyfriend, however, the verdict passed today has left many in the US angered at the justice system.

Only one of the three officers Brett Hankinson was charged for wanton endangerment for violating a police code of shooting without a clear sight and through a sliding door with blinds. According to the New York Times, “No charges were announced against the other two officers who fired shots, and no one was charged for causing Ms. Taylor’s death.”

The verdict upset many of the Hollywood celebrities who took to social media to express disappointment with the judicial decision.

Mandy Moore tweeted, “I don’t have the words. #BreonnaTaylor and her family deserve justice.”

“She was let down by our judicial system. Her family was let down. May her legacy motivate us to do more for necessary change. Remember Breonna when you VOTE this year,” the actress added.
