Houseparty app responsible for Saba Qamar’s phone being hacked?

Since the lockdown has been keeping everyone indoors and away from friends, a growing number of people have been resorting to the use of apps to keep in touch. One such app that emerged very popular in this quarantine due to coronavirus, happens to be the Houseparty app.

But, there seems to be a glitch of sorts with the app, as increasing number of users have reported falling prey to hacking via the app.

And, although not official as yet, actress Saba Qamar, too might have been a victim.

Saba Qamar’s manager Meeshal Cheema, recently took to her Instagram to share an incident about receiving a call from Saba’s number, with her having no idea about it.

“Got a call from Saba’s number asking me if I am Mishi and the person was an anonymous young man,” said Meshal explaining that the man said that he had found the phone at a park where Saba jogs, and upon asking how he accessed the phone, he insisted that he found it unlocked.

“I asked him who and where he is, to which he kept asking if this is Saba’s number and when I got mad, he cut the phone,” she wrote.

Mesha then called Saba who told her she is home. “She was shocked that how is someone using her number to call,” wrote Cheema further.

Meshal added that there had been no confirmation whether the phone was hacked through the Houseparty app but they were warning people ahead of it, in case anything bad happened/

“We have made sure that all accounts are secure now, but just in case, if something goes wrong, we are informing every one of you ahead of time that this has happened,” wrote Qamar’s manager.
