Huma Qureshi and other Indian Celebrities Come Out on Streets to Protest Against Citizenship Bill

In the aftermath of Delhi police’s attack on Jamia Millia students and protesters, India is currently going through a wave of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and in support of the students of the varsity.

On Thursday, hundreds of protesters gathered at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai to voice their support for Jamia Millia students. In a rather surprising turn of events, some A-list Bollywood celebrities were also seen at the venue.

Actress Huma Qureshi, the director turned actor Farhan Akhtar and director Anurag Kashyap were amongst those spotted at the protest alongside citizens.

Taking it to Instagram, Huma Qureshi shared a picture with a small girl holding an impactful plank card.

“When the protest gets out of Jamia Millia and reaches Bihar University, understand that the issue is of the whole country,” the poster said.

Huma took captioned the picture with a heartfelt note in support of CAA protests.

“Met this little protestor at August Kranti Maidan. The voice of people is loud and clear,” the Gangs of Wasaypur actress wrote.

“The World is watching, India is rising. Repeal the #CAA. Stop trying to silence us,” she concluded.
