Humaima Malick narrates how she survived an abusive marriage and relationship

After Mohsin Abbas Haider’s wife accused him of domestic violence, a lot of celebs came out in her support, condemning Haider for the despicable act. At the same time, this incident has also prompted actress Humaima Malick to share her pain and ordeal of an abusive relationship, which she was lucky to survive.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Humaima shared,

“Although it has been years, but all these years and the pain filled days and nights still haunt me,” Malick shared. “I was only 19-20 year-old miserable young girl who can’t even share my screaming wounds with my family,” she added.

“While I was working, making a life for myself and my family, I have been threatened, abused and beaten to death not only once but many times,” added the Maula Jatt actor. “I’m not scared anymore, I’m just shameful of the silence.”

Remembering her experience Humaima added how she wasn’t afraid but ashamed of not having done something about it then.

“I am shameful of my self today I didn’t do anything for my self 3 years of abusive marriage, 7 years of another abusive relationship and it repeated again,” she added.

The Humaima Malick we see today is the product of all the abusive relationships yet empowered and stronger than ever. We’re glad Humaima Malick was able to pull herself out of the misery and become a strong woman who can very well advocate for herself and other women with courage today.
