Famous rock musician Alan Merrill, popularly known for his song ‘I Love Rock N Roll’ has passed away due to novel coronavirus in New York, BBC reported.
His daughter Laura was the first to break the news about his death on social media.
“The Coronavirus took my father this morning. I was given 2 minutes to say my goodbyes before I was rushed out. He seemed peaceful and as I left there was still a glimmer of hope that he wouldn’t be a ticker on the right-hand side of the CNN/Fox news screen,” she wrote.
Laura urged the people to take coronavirus seriously and stay indoors for their safety.
Joan Jett, who sang a popular rendition of Merill’s song I love Rock and Roll, honoured the deceased musician on Twitter.
