“I play a guy named Kabir, who is a go getter,” Ali Rehman Khan on Heer Maan Ja

The recently released poster from the Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer “Heer Maan Ja” has generated a lot of curiosity, especially because the poster depicts the two in never been seen before, fun avatars. While Hareem looks like a run away bride, Ali Rehman Khan appeared to be contemplating something in the poster. And now, in conversation with the Images, the two have let the audience in on a bit of their characters in the film.

“This film is a romantic comedy and for the first time I am playing a romantic lead. The dynamics work differently because the story is different and so are the characters. It’s too early to talk about the characters and storyline but I can say this, both characters are extremely fun and complicated. each dealing with their own complexity. It’s a fun-paced rom-com for everyone,” said Ali while talking about starring in Heer Maan Ja.

Talking about his character, Ali shared, “I play a guy named Kabir who is super confident and a go-getter. He does what he feels is right and gets what he wants. The only thing is that he constantly runs into bad luck which adds to a continuous struggle to balance a perfect life – that’s what made this character really enjoyable to play.”

While Ali plays the super confident Kabeer, Hareem will be seen portraying the role of Heer who is a textile designer with a sweet soul. “For an actor to be playing two diversified characters in a very short time span is an exhilarating experience and I got that with Eman in Parchi and now Heer in our latest film. I couldn’t have asked for a better role,” Hareem shared while letting the readers in on her character.

Ali also shared how he liked the script of the film and since he hadn’t done a rom-com before, the idea of Heer Maan Ja appealed to him instantly. On the other hand, Hareem shared how Heer allowed her to experiment with the roles she had played so far, offering something very different to the audience.

According to Hareem, Heer Maan Ja will also be bringing across a number of cameos from some very prominent actors as well. The film, directed by Azfar Jafri, is all set to release on Eid ul Azha this year.
