‘Indian Army is as sacred as the state’, Navjot Singh Sidhu hits hard on BJP government

Indian cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday hit out at the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for using the armed forces to fulfill its own ‘political’ interests.

Hitting hard on the BJP, in a tweet, Sidhu has declared that the Army is as sacred as the state’.

He further added, “Stop politicising the top institutions for political motives. Made a puppet of CBI, arm-twisted the RBI, covert operations of RAW exposed and the judiciary’s reprimand. For God sake leave the army to fight battles… not elections!

Sidhu, who is Punjab cabinet minister, attacked the ruling party for a high rate of unemployment and corruption plaguing the country.

He also called out PM Modi for lying to the nation over the ‘airstrike’ in Balakot. He asserted that the regime has started a “propaganda war”, adding, “Army is as sacred as the state.”

In a previous tweet, the former cricketer also raised a number of questions, asking: “300 terrorist dead, Yes or No? What was the purpose then? Were you uprooting terrorist or trees? Was it an election gimmick”.
