2017 saw the release of Hindi Medium; a film which shed light on the pressure parents face while trying to enroll their children in a good school. Directed by Saket Chaudhry, the film also starred Pakistani actress Saba Qamar and was received well by the critics here and across the border as well.
Recently when the makers announced a sequel to the film, it was rumored that Shahrukh Khan and Kajol would be roped in for the film. However, the rumors proved to be false and then Irrfan Khan, who was under treatment for his cancer, in London, was finalized to reprise his role from the prequel.
Now, if news sources are to be believed, Khan has returned to Mumbai and will begin shooting for the film from the 22nd of February. Hindi Medium 2 will be directed by Homi Adajania and will star Irrfan Khan as Raj. The female lead opposite Khan has yet not been finalized but rumors were ripe that Kareena Kapoor Khan might be brought in to replace the character played by Saba Qamar in the prequel.
