Koena Mitra Sentenced Six Months Jail in a Fraud Case
Saaqi Saaqi song famed actress Koena Mitra has been sentenced to jail in a fraud case. The actress who also worked in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena and Apna Sapna Money Money will be imprisoned for six months as per the punishment declared upon her.
The verdict has come in the case model Poonam Sethi filed against Koena in 2013. As per Poonam, Koena borrowed Rs.2.2 million from her and failed to pay back. Initially the court ordered Koena to pay the amount back with interest.

As a first installment Koena did pay Rs0.3 million to Poonam in 2013, however the cheque bounced. Upon Poonam’s second legal notice to Koena, the actress did not budge and has not paid the full amount to her colleague till date.
After multiple notices and hearings, the court has sentenced Koena to jail and ordered to pay the full amount with interest. In failing to do so, the actress will presumably be spending another three months in jail.

According to Koena, she has been wrongfully framed in the case. The Musafir actress intends to challenge the verdict in High Court.
