Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Will Perform ‘Shallow’ at Oscars this time

‘A Star Is Born’ actors Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will perform the Oscar-nominated song ‘Shallow’ at the 91st Academy Awards.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tweeted the news on Friday, writing simply: “Cooper. Gaga. ‘Shallow’. Oscars”.

The move was widely expected, and means that four of the five nominees for Best Original Song have now been confirmed for performances during the ceremony: ‘Shallow’, ‘I’ll Fight’; ‘The Place Where Lost Things Go’ and ‘When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings’.

Surprising fans in attendance at Lady Gaga’s Vegas show last month, Cooper jumped up on stage to perform a live rendition of “Shallow,” and fans understandably went wild. Not only was the chemistry between the co-stars unreal, but their vocals were also on point. If their previous performance is anything to go by, they’re about to bring the house down at the 2019 Oscars.

Cooper made his directorial debut with ‘A Star Is Born’, which is based on the eponymous 1937 film, which was directed by William Wellmam.

The story revolves around a fading star who helps a woman get ahead in her career when his own career is spiralling downward.

Oscars will air Sunday, February 24 on ABC. Gaga and Cooper are both nominated for best actress and best actor, Sam Elliott is up for best supporting actor, and the film itself is nominated for best picture, best adapted screenplay, best cinematography, and best sound mixing.
