According to the news source, an application was filed at the Lahore session court earlier this month, challenging the family court’s decision declared in May 2018. According to it her marriage to the businessman Atiq-ur-Rehman is still valid and the Nikkahnama, is also original, despite being claimed by Meera Ji of being forged.

The appeal was however, dismissed by the sessions court, on 6th of November as actress’s lawyer failed to appear before the court for the proceeding. But the opposing party’s lawyer was present at the proceeding, repeating his client Atiq-ur-Rehman’s claim that Meera is his lawful wife.
