Lahore sessions court dismisses Meera’s request to invalidate her nikahnama with Atiq-Ur-rehman
Actress Meera is determined to prove that the Nikkahnama that declares her to be businessman Attique-ur-Rehman’s wife is false. Meera Ji filed an appeal in the family court, to invalidate her Nikahnama with the businessman Atiq-ur-Rehman, However, her attempt turned out to be unsuccessful.
According to the news source, an application was filed at the Lahore session court earlier this month, challenging the family court’s decision declared in May 2018. According to it her marriage to the businessman Atiq-ur-Rehman is still valid and the Nikkahnama, is also original, despite being claimed by Meera Ji of being forged.
The appeal was however, dismissed by the sessions court, on 6th of November as actress’s lawyer failed to appear before the court for the proceeding. But the opposing party’s lawyer was present at the proceeding, repeating his client Atiq-ur-Rehman’s claim that Meera is his lawful wife.
Atiq-ur-Rehman filed a case against Meera for marrying another person without dissolution of her marriage to him. Claims of Meera’s marriage with Captain Naveed surfaced after the scandal of a controversial video clip featuring Meera and Captain Naved.
According to Meera, she is being blackmailed by Atiq-ur-Rahman. She filed a case against him, claiming to be her husband and forging a marriage certificate in 2009. Meera’s council has been maintaining the claim that the family court’s ruling was incorrect and she never married Atiq-ur-Rehman.
For this latest hearing, as her lawyer did not appear before the court must be the reason reported earlier. As it was reported, that Advocate Balkh Sher has sent her a legal notice. Khosa told that Meera owes him Rs1.5mn in fee, but cheques given by her bounced!
