Here is Why Maulana Tariq Jameel is Launching his Clothing Brand

Maulana Tariq Jameel has been trending in news for launching his clothing brand MTJ.
The news garnered mixed reactions from fans and followers of Maulana Tariq Jameel, a popular religious figure of Pakistan.
However, Maulana Tariq Jameel who enjoys millions of fan following took to social media to share the reason behind his decision.
Maulana stated that the only purpose of launching a clothing brand is to financially support his madrassas.
In a video message shared on his official social media platforms, Maulana Tariq Jameel said, “The thought first came to me in 2000. I always wanted to run the madrassa without using zakat money. But I couldn’t find enough resources for it”.
He went on to add, “So, when the pandemic happened, the Almighty put this thought in my head to start a business and use that money to run the Islamic institutions. That was my intention and a few of my friends collaborated with me. Hence, we launched a brand with my name.”
“I don’t understand where this idea of clerics running such businesses isn’t righteous came from, even though a lot of religious personalities we follow have been successful businessmen,” Maulana added.
Maulana also clarified that the intention of launching a clothing brand is neither for competitiveness nor profit but it is aimed at flourishing the madrassas.
