Maya Ali is on a roll these days. After the tremendous success of her first film Teefa In Trouble last year, the lady is again gearing up for the release of her superhit next, Paray Hut Love. Only the trailer and music of the film have been released up till now and from the looks of it, its going to be a blockbuster.
Recently, while promoting Paray Hut Love, Maya Ali spoke to BBC Asia about how her family disapproved of her career choice.
“When I joined the entertainment industry, my father stopped talking to me for eight long years. I wish he would have not stopped talking to me. If nothing else, I at least wanted him to get mad at me or anything like that, you know? I remember I would say ‘Baba, Assalam-o-alaikum’ and he would never even reply back,” shared Maya.
The actress then added that her father finally made peace with her six months before he passed away.
“When I could not win an award for Diyar-e-Dil, he said, ‘It is OK, Beta, next year, you will win it for Mann Mayal’ and I did. I won the award next year but, he was not there to celebrate it with me,” said Maya.
Maya also shared how her mother had been her support throughout but she had always wanted to prove herself to her father.
Paray Hut Love starring Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawar in the lead roles, releases on Eid ul Azha all over. The film is an Asim Raza directorial.
