A month ago, Mehwish Hayat had drawn the attention of the authorities towards the dismal condition of ladies restrooms at Karachi airport on social media and seems like this worked for the larger good as the concerned authorities have not only started cleaning up ladies rooms but also gents.
“Disgusting! Had the misfortune to use the ladies’ room at Karachi airport – dirty and stinking.”
“Not only is it unhygienic but is this the first impression we want to give to people coming here? These are the most basic amenities – let’s clean up our act,” Hayat had written then on Twitter, relaying her experience whilst also schooling the authorities.
However, exactly a month later, Hayat posted an update of the matter on her Twitter last night, rather happily.
“So gratifying to pass through Karachi Airport today and see this work being carried out on the gents and ladies’ rooms,” she told her fans.
“Thank you, to the authorities who listened to my request and took action,” the Chhalawa actress wrote and also uploaded pictures of the rest rooms being renovated.
