Taking it to Twitter, Mehwish took the opportunity to share the news with her fans.
“I am so honoured to be chosen by the international Magazine, “Muslim Vibe” as one of the top five Muslim women in the world who are breaking stereotypes and changing the world. To be thought of in the same breath as women I look up to is humbling,” wrote the ecstatic actress.
Other names on the Muslim Vibe’s list include American entrepreneur and activist Ibtihaj Muhammad, Egyptian athlete Manal Rostom and US Congress member Ilhan Omar. The list has been compiled by Penny Appeal – an international NGO working – on the occasion of World Gender Equality Day.
