Amidst the step taken by the U.S. Department of Transportation fining Delta Air Lines on its unfair move against Muslim passengers, actress Mehwish Hayat came forward to laud the authorities for taking the major crackdown against discrimination.
The Loadwedding actress while commending the US authorities for taking the unbiased step tweeted: ” A nice slap on the wrists.. I am glad that the US authorities have fined the airline. It is a sad state of affairs that has bought us to this. Perceptions have to change and people have to be more tolerant of one another irrespective of background, religion or appearance.”
Delta Air Lines was fined $50,000 by the U.S. Department of Transportation after ordering three Muslim passengers off a flight.
The US Transportation Department has found American aviation company violated federal statutes that prohibit carriers from discriminating based on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex or ancestry.
However, Delta Air Lines denied that it discriminated against the passengers in two separate incidents while agreeing that the situations could have been handled differently.
